Strange and exotic plants and animals are showing up where they don't belong. What can we do to stop them?

The consensus among the international scientific community and governmental organizations internationally is that significant changes in global climates are occurring now and are anticipated to increase in the near future. Given Oregon Parks and Recreation Departments mission and responsibilities, it is important to understand and prepare for the anticipated effects of climate change.

A plan has been developed that outlines anticipated climate changes specific to regions within Oregon and the effects they may have on our parks facilities, operations, and programs. The plan provides a framework for adapting to climate change effects as more information becomes available and as climate changes occur. Near-term actions are identified that can be accomplished using existing resources, including actions that will reduce our carbon footprint and aid in long-term sustainability of our parks facilities, operations, and natural resources.
